For those seeking a more relaxed and open-air setting, the backyard at VFW Ship 4084 offers a welcoming space ideal for casual gatherings, community barbecues, live music, or family celebrations. The area combines comfort and functionality, creating the perfect environment for events that celebrate connection and camaraderie.
Our backyard area features a stage for live performances, ceremonies, or speeches, as well as a built-in barbecue area and ample seating for guests. Whether you’re planning a summer cookout, an evening under the stars, or a fundraiser with live entertainment, this outdoor space provides flexibility for a wide range of event styles and sizes.
Please note that backyard rentals do not prevent VFW members from accessing the designated smoking area, which remains open for member use at all times. We strive to ensure that both event guests and members can share the space respectfully and comfortably.
Guests may also access the canteen during their rental, where our trained bartenders are ready to provide friendly and professional service. Our team can assist with setup, coordination, and cleanup to make your event easy to host and enjoyable for all who attend.
At Ship 4084, our goal is to provide spaces where the community can gather — to celebrate, to remember, and to simply enjoy one another’s company. The backyard brings that spirit to life in the fresh desert air, surrounded by good company and good memories.

policies
- All facility rentals shall be done through the canteen manager, or assistant bar manager.
- All rentals are first come first served, and shall not be placed on the calendar until initial deposit is made.
- NO alcoholic or non-alcoholic (i.e. soft drinks) shall be brought onto the property or into the facility.
- Rentals shall not charge any admission fees to guests during their rental.
- All utilizes shall be provided by the renter. Tables and chairs are provided by the Ship at no additional charge.
- Children shall be kept under control at all times. They shall not play or linger in the parking lot at any time. At 9 p.m. anyone under the age of 21 years old must be within the hall. Scooters, bikes, skateboards, etc. are strictly prohibited from being used on the property.
